Cathy has worked as a health researcher, consultant and trainer for the last 25 years. Her early career included a decade of clinical work in NHS and social service settings working with children with complex mental health needs. Cathy has held Research Director roles at the National Children's Bureau, YoungMinds and Rethink Mental Illness, as well as delivering national research and evaluation projects for the Department of Health, NHS England, SCIE and NICE. She has expertise in qualitative research methodologies, systematic literature and evidence reviews and analysis of outcomes tools. Cathy also has an established national reputation for promoting children and young people's participation in health services improvement, research and development. At NPI, Cathy has been extensively involved in our work around the impact of breakfast clubs on children's health and wellbeing, food poverty and families and research into school exclusion.
