This publication was part of an ongoing project to monitor trends and developments in Scotland. For example, we previously published a comprehensive analysis in November 2004 which revealed that poverty rates among pensioners and families with children in Scotland were falling but that the proportion of childless adults who live on low incomes was on the increase.
