Polarisation in primary schools
This study looked at the distribution of children from different social backgrounds into different primary schools. It demonstrated that poor children have become increasing concentrated in particular schools over the last five years. A workshop of interested teachers and academics concluded that this was a matter for concern and suggested that we undertake a full scale study into the causes and effects of this trend.
