Asylum seekers and immigration

In 2002, we published a report on the feasibility and costs of the government's proposals for accommodation centres for asylum seekers.  The work was undertaken on behalf of the Asylum Coalition which includes the BMA, Churches Commission For Racial Justice, the Children's Society, the Family Welfare Association, Oxfam, the Refugee Council, Save The Children and T&G.

Our analysis demonstrated how both costly and infeasible it would be to provide anything like a decent minimum environment in these centres, with the key problem being their rural locations rather than the accommodation centres per se.

Previously, we researched the availability or otherwise of statistics on the extent and nature of illegal immigration on behalf of Hard Cash Productions.
