Our team

The New Policy Institute's current team is:  Peter Kenway, Tom MacInnes, Anushree Parekh, Angi Driver, Hannah Aldridge, Jenny Pannell, Cathy Street and Steve Macarthur.

Peter Kenway (Director)

Before he co-founded the New Policy Institute in 1996, Peter worked as a manager, consultant and planner in public transport, as well as an academic economist at the University of Reading.  

Tom MacInnes (Research Director)

Tom joined NPI after working for several years at the Department of Health as an operational researcher.  Tom is NPI's principal data analyst with a central role on most of NPI's major projects

Anushree Parekh (Research Analyst)

Anushree previously worked with Fair Pensions, and Age Concern (England). She has a background in economics and development studies.

Hannah Aldridge (Research Analyst)

Hannah has previously worked as a researcher looking into affordable housing and the housing needs of specialist groups. Her academic background is in poverty and international development.

Angi Driver (Company Secretary)

Angi was a research assistant for several MPs, then spent 15 years working in social housing, prior to coming to NPI, where she is responsible for all aspects of administration and finance.

Jenny Pannell (Research Associate)

Jenny has over 20 years experience, first as a senior housing manager and then in housing and social policy teaching and research at the University of the West of England, Bristol.  As well as her research with the Institute, Jenny works with older people’s and learning disability organisations.

Cathy Street (Research Associate)

Cathy has over 15 years practical and academic experience in the fields of Child Psychiatry and Health Policy.  Besides her research for the Institute, Cathy works with a range of mental health charities and has research and teaching responsibilities at the LSE.

Steve Macarthur (Research Associate)

Steve has an academic background on public policy and 25 years of experience of development work and management in Third Sector organisations.
